Email Verification
After you have filled in all the required data, then you are asked to send an email to the Cloudways team, the content of the email is asking for your account to be activated because you want to try their cloud hosting service.

Email Activation
Then if your email has been replied to (between 1-2 hours) it can be longer or faster, the Cloudways team will ask for your cellphone number, Facebook address and Linkedin.
Send them what they ask for verification. Due to security reasons, there are many ‘robots’ who register for this service so it must be verified manually (at least this is what they say).

Your email will be replied to within the next 1-2 hours, once it is active you can login to cloudways and start selecting the platform you need.

Migration Setup
There are actually two options for this migration, you can move files manually and import the database manually as well.

The second option you can use the plugin provided by Cloudways managed WordPress cloud hosting to make it easier to transfer your database and all your files to cloud hosting.

If you want to migrate from your old shared hosting to a cloud-based hosting like Cloudways, it is highly recommended to use a migration plugin.

Install Plugins
You can install the plugin from Cloudways, then enter some credential passwords that have been provided on the hosting panel such as: ftp username and password, username and password for database, destination site, and public server ip.

During the migration process you will be emailed to monitor the progress of the migration process.

So basically you can close your browser screen because the migration process does not depend on you opening the browser or not.

Domain Pointing
After you finish migrating, you will be asked to do domain pointing, by default you are given a subdomain name from this service, the next step you need to input your domain name / primary domain so that it can be recognized by this new service.

If you want to test the speed and functionality of your web before pointing, you can use the default name provided by cloud hosting.

Change A Record
After you are sure with the content and functionality of your website, it’s time to change the A Record / add an A Record to the DNS where your domain is managed.

Add an A Record with the public IP that has been assigned by Cloudways on their dashboard.

Login to your dashboard, navigate to the domain tab, and add the A Record along with the IP of the server you are using. If you use cloudflare as DNS management, please make sure the Cloudways server ip is set.

After pointing the domain, the next step you are asked to install SSL, the goal is that the HTTPS protocol of your site can be accessed.

The good news is that Cloudways has integrated SSL with Let’s Encrypt so you can install it for free.

Test website
The last step you try to test your website after DNS propagation for 1 × 24 hours, you can check using: dns checker.
